Dim sum is written in Chinese as 點 心; those are 2 different characters.
點 means "point" in the sense of "a little bit", or in the sense of "touch" and 心 means heart. Dim sums are indeed small bites, but every bite is given special attention to touch your heart. We chose the name of our restaurant 一點心, which says something about a token of appreciation, even if it's just a small thing.
Every moment that you sit together to eat or drink shows that you value the relationship, it is a moment with a good meaning behind it. Whether it's family, friends, colleagues, it doesn't matter.
